The budget changes approved by the School Board would increase the art position from 40 percent to 60 percent. The other 10 percent, to increase the position to 70 percent, comes from the RJR/Nabisco grant. Dr. Gangel said including funds for the art teacher in that program would enable her to work with the people designing software for the computerized fourth-grade curriculum to make it more appealing to the children.
There are other personnel changes in that grant program that will not affect the bottom line of the budget.
