“Other” funds increased by 48.46 percent or $239,100. The main reason for this increase is the $196,800 grant from RJR/Nabisco. Although the program has been going on this year, funds for it were not included in the budget adopted for this year. “Other” funds also include the state’s estimate of the portion of the sales tax that will be returned to the county based on school-aged population. The state estimated that that figure would increase by 8.33 percent or $39,200. Funds from drivers’ education are projected to increase by $2,500 because fees paid by students will be raised from $35 to $60.
