Three cars

damaged

in crashes

Although the weekend blizzard kept traffic to a minimum over the weekend, the Virginia State police did deal with two accidents earlier in the week.

On March 11a single car accident occurred on Route 729 near the intersection with Route 640.

According to a report filed by Trooper S.M. Knick, George I. Presgraves, 67, of Amissville, was headed south on Route 729 in a 1975 Ford sedan when he ran off the road on the right side about 7 p.m. The vehicle continued along the shoulder and struck a fence and some newspaper tubes.

Trooper Knick estimated the sedan was a total loss. He charged Mr. Presgraves with driving under the influence.

On March 9, Trooper Knick responded to a two-car accident on Route 626 in Tiger Valley.

According to the trooper’s report, the accident occurred about 3:50 p.m. on a curve about .6 miles south of U.S. 211.Jason S. Morris,
