Rappahannock countians and visitors of all ages will have an opportunity to try square dancing at 3 p.m. in front of the courthouse and again st 6:30 p.m. at Avon Hall.
Paul Reisler and Martha Sand• afer of Trapezoid will be giving two free concerts at Avon Hall, at 3:30 p.m. and again at 8 p.m.
The bicycle parade with Uncle Sam will come through town at about 4:30 p.m. with line up for the parade behind the jail at 4 p.m.
At 5 p.m. the WVFD will begin their sale of chicken and pork barbecue dinners behind the monument.
For the rest of the evening all the action will be at Avon Hall. Owner William Carrigan urges everyone to bring a picnic from home or purchase a dinner from the fire department. Alcoholic beverages and personal fireworks are prohibited.
Entertainment begins with children’s races at 6 p.m. Square dancing follows at 6:30, and the crowning of Miss Independence and Little Miss Fourth of July are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., followed by the second Trapezoid concert at 8. Fireworks will begin at dusk, approximately 9 p.m.
