Rappahannock schools ranked highest in the state in attendance for elementary and middle school students in the results of the Outcome Accountability Project (OAP) for the 1991-92 school year. However, the schools ranked below the state average in attendance for special education students and for high school students.
Rappahannock schools did not do well in any of the measures for the objective of “Increasing Special Education Students’ Living Skills and Opportunities.”
At 9 percent the drop-out rate for special education students is above the state average of 4 percent and above all surrounding localities except Madison County, which had the same rate as Rappahannock.
