Five years after their graduation most of the members of the Rappahannock County High School Class of 1988 are working, the majority full time; a few are raising families, and while individual class members are living in Louisaiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Vermont, as well as other parts of Virginia, many are still living in Rappahannock but working outside the county.
A survey of class members conducted over the last weekend reached 12 of the 20 girls and 15 of the 30 boys who graduated in June 1988.
Five of the former students, or 10 percent, have earned college degrees, and one is working on a masters’ degree. Several more have attended college, and some are planning on graduating within the next two years.
None of the 15 young men contacted have served in the armed forces, but two of the young women have. If the sample contacted so far is typical, most of the members of the Class of 1988 are still single.
