A Merit Award was won by David Botts for his inticate end table of lacewood through tenons on the top surrounded by turquoise crushed and mixed with epoxy and inlaid on the surface. This gives the piece a South-western native American feel about it that is very pleasant.
Another Merit Award was won by architect joiner Andrew Peklo of Woodberv, Connecticut for this walnut and leather chain. This piece is easy on the eve and a real comfort to sit in. Jack Abbott of Fredericksburg, has several pieces, the^pf of which is a walnut and maple turning that catche^and keeps your attention.
Perhaps the most spectacular piece comes from Luray thanks to John Coleman. It is a large multi-specied wood and silk armoir that reminded me of a cocoon when I first saw it but made other think of Cinderalla’s coach. The piece was available for $36,000.
