Prenatal Classes
A series of six classes for expectant parents which began Aug. 4 and will run through Sept. 8 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The Preparation for Parenthood Course is offered on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the hospital boardroom.
Designed for expectant parents who want to learn about the process of childbirth and related topics, the course costs $50. Ruth Partlow, LPN, will discuss prenatal care. Lamaze breathing techniques, medications and drugs, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. - Participants in the series will view a film on childbirth and take a tour of the obstetric unit at CMH, including the birthing room and the labor and delivery suite.
mini-refresher course in Breathing techniques and infant care will be held on Sept. 22 from 6-9 p.m. in the boardroom. The course costs $25.
