Rappahannock residents can save time, money and their sanity by shopping in Rappahannock County this Christmas season. Malls are increasingly crowded, as are the roads to reach them.
Shops in the county are filled with an abundance of gifts for all sorts of people in all price ranges.
CHILDREN
Cabin Fever Books has the Dinotopia pop-up book for $15.95 and a large selection of childrens’ books. A diary for $9.98 is also available.
Rush River carries Rappahannock County T-shirts for $6.00 in childrens’ sizes. They also have a big book of cat stickers for $3.50, and books of paper dolls for $3.95.
Country Elegance carries baby afghans for $19.95.
The Emporium has a hugh selection of toys, including wind-up dinosaurs for $2.49, a set of farm animals for $1.99, a child-size Chinese tea set for $9.95, small fur pelts for $2.98, and Indian drums of various sizes and prices. This is a good place to find a lot of stocking gifts.
Parkway Gift Shop has wooden slat rocking chairs for little people for $5.95 and up. They also carry personalized toothbrushes for $1.99, baby Minnetonka moccasins for $11.95, and a mini wicker chair for a doll for $7.49.
Mountainside Market sells sets of five packets of seeds for a child’s garden for $9.95 (packed for the 1994 season).
Rare Finds carries several blankets, quilts and teddy bears in various sizes and prices.
At The Church Mouse you can find a zippered pack with mama and papa bear and four babies inside for $26.95. They also carry hand-smocked baby dresses for $50.00.
