The sewage plant had a new flow meter installed, at a total cost of $1400. Member Charles K. “Pete” Estes took care of ordering it and having it installed. “It includes a radar gun to check the flow,” he said.
Richard Smith handed out copies of information about Tier designations to all members of the Water and Sewer Authority at their meeting Thursday night. He will be attending a workshop in Harrisonburg about tier designations before the next meeting, and will report on it then.
Mr. Smith contacted two more companies to bid on the development of plans and specificiations for a needed redesign at the plant to handle septage from tanks in the system.
Culpeper Engineering bid $2,200 for the design. ENSAT, also from Culpeper, bid $1,580 for the design. Their bid of $4,280 would include construction, and an optional pump would cost $2,200. Last month the WSA considered a bid of $4,882 from ESS for the design work.
