PUBLIC MEETING TO CONSIDER
RESTRICTIONS ON DISCHARGING
FIREARMS IN SPERRYVILLE
In order to assess public opinion on the matter, the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County shall hold a public hearing at the Sperryville Fire Hall on Thursday, December 9. at 7:00 p.m., to consider the need for an ordinance forbidding the discharge of firearms in the Sperryville area. The Board has been informed that persons discharging firearms on private property in the Sperryville area have caused danger and/or damage to adjacent properties and/or pedestrians. In order to assess the scope of the problem, the Board suggests that all persons who feel that such a restriction would or would not be beneficial should attend the meeting and make their feelings known. Alternatively, written comments may be addressed to John W. McCarthy, County Administrator, PO Box 519, Washington, VA 22747.
