“Paul Brown has improved tremendously too. He has not committed a turnover in scrimmage. Jeff Holder was promoted from J. V. this year. He is our defensive specialist off the bench. He is a smart player who anticipates well,” he said.
Jason Settle has been scoring double digits for points and rebounding this season. The leading scorer so far is Andre Fletcher, who averaged 30 points in the two scrimmages. “He has the ability to be in the right place at the right time,” said Leake.
“Jonathan Fletcher looked good in the first two scrimmages. He and Andre gave us good court balance. He is a strong physical post player,” Coach Leake said.
Ray Atkins is adjusting to a position change this year as a point guard. “He has done extremely well so far and is one of the top three hustling players in the district. He will sacrifice anything to save a loose ball,” he added.
