The junior varsity volleyball team was not as successful as the varsity, but put up a good fight after the first game, which they lost 0-15. They won the second game 15 to 9, then fell to Clarke in the third game, 12 to 15. “The improvement from the scrimmage against Warren County is very encouraging,” said Coach Emily Wingate. “I think they were scared in the first game, but I think they will turn out to be a good team,” she added.
The volleyball teams will play at Brentsville Wednesday, at Strasburg Monday and return home against Stonewall Jackson next Wednesday.
Junior varsity games begin at 7 p.m. followed by the varsity games.
