Only eight weeks after kicking off his campaign, former delegate Jerry' Wood has abandoned his bid to recapture the 31st District House of Delegates seat.
Mr. Wood’s withdrawal leaves Sue Scheer, the former Cedar Run planning commissioner who announced her candidacy Monday night, without a challenger for the Democratic nomination.
Though he did not rule out a return to the race as an independent, in an interview Tuesday he described the chance of that as “remote.”
Mr. Wood was evasive about his reasons for dropping out, saying that several of the “10 to 12 factors” were personal.
