Winter-Rose
Jackson H. Winter-Rose, 63, of Sperryvilie, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who later practiced law in Washington, D.C., died on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Walter Reed Army Hospital.
Col. Winter-Rose was born in Little Rock, Ark., and held a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Upon retiring from the Air Force in 1972, after 20 years of service at duty locations such as the Strategic Air Command and the Pentagon, he received a law degree from George Washington University and practiced law in Washington until 1990.
He was a scuba diving enthusiast and taught it in the Caribbean and elsewhere. About three years ago he moved to Sperryvilie where he built his home.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Winter-Rose of Sperryvilie; six children, Gavin Stevenson Rose of Ruckersville, Pamela Kunkel of Centreville, Perri Elizabeth Rose of Framingham, Mass., Dean Jackson Rose of Syracuse, N.Y. and Kari Winter Labrie and Justin Corrado, both of Washington. D.C. and six grandchildren.
James Kilby
James Frankiin Kilby of Bealeton died Tuesday, March 14.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1919, in Rappahannock County, the son of Johnson S. and Robbie Pierce Kilby.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Andes Kilby; one daughter, Judy K. Keyser; two sons. Emest L. Kilby and Jame3 DeWayne Kilby; one grandson and three granddaughters.
