The 17-year-old showed computer solutions to determine how a traveling salesman can most efficiently travel from 15 to 300 different cities. When he won in 1993, he used humans to solve the problem.
“I loved going to the international fair the first time and I’m really looking forward to going again,” he said. At the first international fair, Jim, then a ninth-grader, received a third place special award.
He is the son of James S. and Elbe Clark of Washington. A goalkeeper for the school varsity soccer team and an active Boy Scout, his goal is to study electrical engineering or computer science in college.
