Stonewall-llawthorn District representative John Tole suggested granting at least the 3 percent raise.
Dr. Gangel noted that although all teachers will get credit for one more year of experience, for some of them that does not mean a raise without the increase to the salary scale. That is because teachers with one, two or three years of experience are paid the same.
In the end Mr. Lee made the motion seconded by Dr. Tole to accept the cuts with the two percent increase. The motion passed unanimously.
