Soccer and track seasons are underway at RCHS, but coaches of both sports are frustrated with the conditions of the field their athletes must put up with.
Soccer coach Uli Maeyer still calls the soccer field at the high school a “potato field,” and he said, “1 will quit after this season because of the lack of support from the school system. I think I have built something in four years and did it without support. I am not willing to do it any longer.”
He said that having football played on the field also made it worse, and nothing was done to the field to put it in good shape. He pointed out the brown strip down the middle of the field where grass had been worn away during football.
