Meeting, Luncheon Planned

The annual Sue Slaughter Group Meeting will be held March 25 at Woodville Baptist Church.

Lunch will be at 12 noon and the meeting will be at 1 p.m. Special Music will be provided by Angie Keys and the program (Prague Mission) by Mrs. Norman Wilbur.

Storyhour Continues

The Rappahannock County Library continues the preschool story time at 10:30 a.m. on March 29. Preschool children and their parents are encouraged to attend.

Advisory Committee To Meet

The Special Education Advisory Committee originally scheduled for March 9 has been rescheduled for 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6 in Room 23 at the high school (Mrs. Logan’s room). Jim Hall of the Department of Rehabilitative Services will present the program. Refreshments will be served. The meeting is open to the public.

Flexercise Classes Set

A six-week series of flexercise classes will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at Rappahannock Elementary' School. Class will be Monday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30. Class fee is S35. Please call Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887, evening for more information.

Miss Rappahannock Pageant

The annual Miss Rappahannock Pageant sponsored by the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Rehearsal and registration will be held at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, April 20. The pageant and rehearsal will be the Rappahannock Elementary School.

The contest will feature girls ages 2-19 and boys ages 2-6. There will also be Sisters and Mother-Daughter contests.

Pictures will be taken the night of the pageant by Ken Pullen Photos. Packages will be offered to contestants and the general public.

Benefit Auction Planned

The second annual Spring Mountain School benefit auction, Saturday, April 1 will be held at the school on Mt Salem Ave in Washington. Silent auction from 1 to 5 p.m. features bargain collectibles. Live bidding begins at 3 p.m. on everything from original art by Pulitzer Prize winner JefTMacNelly to antique furniture, vacations, tennis lessons and many unique buying opportunities. Sealed bids accepted.

At 5 p.m. auction-goers will be treated to Peggy Schadler’s Friends of Gaia debut of Persephone and Demeter.

Easter Breakfast at WVFD

The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will have an Easter breakfast from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15. The Easter Bunny will visit with children and an Easter egg hunt will be held after the breakfast.

Open Ffouse Planned

Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will host an Open House at the Fire Company Building on Saturday, April 1. “Join us and leam more about Fire and Rescue in your community,” said a spokesperson. Call Ellen Manson at 675-1349 for more information.

Fiead Stari Enrollment

Skyline CAP/Head Start is accepting applications for the school year 1995-96. This is a four morning, preschool program located at Child Care and Learning Center in Washington for three and four year olds. Priority is given to low-income families. Craft Show Planned

AVFD Carnival Set

The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will,hold its annual Fireman’s Carnival June 21-24. Family night will be Wednesday, parade Thursday, crowning of queen and court Friday and grand prize drawing Saturday. Mark your calendar now to attend and start thinking about your parade entry.
