Coach Maeyer expects his team to go to the regionals this year. “These kids are trying extremely hard. My expectation is that this should be the best year. This is the first time we have a bench of more than two. Physically we should be able to keep up with other teams now.”
One thing that makes the team stronger is that seven or eight of the players have been playing together for two to three years now. Coach Maeyer said he can build the team with these experienced players.
Some of the soccer players are also on the baseball team, which creates a dilemma, said Coach Maeyer. Many of the baseball and soccer games are scheduled on the same days, so players are forced to make a decision as to what team they wish to play on. Luke Zindel has already decided that he will play soccer instead of basebaH this season.
