The world famous clarinetist, Gervase de Peyer plays the great Mozart and Brahms clarinet quintets at The Theatre at Washington on Saturday, April 8, in a concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. He is joined by the Melos Sinfonia String Quartet of Washington.
Offering a unique educational and artistic opportunity to this area’s young people, de Peyer and the string quartet invite children of all ages and students through high school to attend, without charge, their rehearsal from 4 to 5 p.m. prior to the evening’s concert.
De Peyer was principal clarinet with the London Symphony Orchestra for a number of years. He was the only non-American invited to join the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center upon its formation in 1969.
