Kathryn Gangel Mrs. Gangel lives with her husband David and children Holly and Marshall, in a house they have built themselves in Sperryville. Following is one of the poems found in Confetti printed with the permission of the publisher: FOXFIRE The cow and the owl were secret friends. They played out under the trees. The cow and the owl saw a strange, orange light The night of the warm summer breeze. (whoo whoo, moo moo) The cow and the owl both blinked their eyes When they saw the strange, orange light. Spoke the cow to the owl, "You think we should run, Or go check out the strange, orange 1 iuht?” (whoo whoo, moo moo) The cow and the owl both moved real slow To a tree near the strange, orange light. The cow and the owl sniffed the orange foxfire And they both turned orange that night. (whoo whoo, moo moo) Now the cow and the owl are famous friends. They play out under the trees. For the cow and the owl are bright orange Creatures From the night of the w arm summer breeze. (whoo whoo, moo moo)
