“Some members of the General Assembly, no doubt, will continue to say that state government must keep every penny within its clutches, and that we cannot afford this reduction in state spending growth, even for priorities such as local funding for education, law enforcement and tax relief. For those, however, who share my goal of eliminating wasteful government spending, and empowering citizens and local communities, these amendments provide a second chance to reach beyond the mediocre status quo and enact positive change that will improve Virginia’s future.”
