Menefee
Cleveland Smith Menefee, 71, of Sperryville, died on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Fauquier Hospital.
He was bom on June 28, 1924, in Rappahannock County to the late Floyd William and Josie May Menefee.
He was retired from Freedom Studies as a mail clerk and attended New Hope Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Della Mary Atkins Menefee of Sperryville; two daughters, Linda Lou Bird of Manassas and Wanda Lee Rutherford of Rixeyville; two sons, Carson Eastham Menefee and Billy William Menefee, both of Sperryville.
He is also survived by four brothers, Richard Menefee of Sperryville, Earl Menefee of Warrenton, James Menefee of Flint Hill and Roger Menefee of Washington; four sisters, Bertie Pullen of Flint Hill, Ann Layton and Oakey Lambert, both of Charlottesville and Margaret Fincham of Front Royal; 11 grandchildren *and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 12 at Found & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Carl Menefee officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers named were Randolph Clater, Eddie Wayland, Roger Jenkins, John Eubank, Buddy Brown, Steve Clatterbuck, James Leake and Pete Estes.
