Finally, and this appeals to me most, once jays have finished the work of nesting and the young are out of the nest and on their own, jays gather in gangs and roam the woods screaming with seeming delight and indignation at any and everything they do not like. This is a harmless effort of jay gangs. It does seem like fun. ,
I could do worse than return as a Blue Jay. But let me quote from Robert Frost’s Birches'.
“May no fate willfully misunderstand me
And half grant that 1 wish and snatch me away
Not to return. Earth’s the right place for love;
I don’t know where it’s likely to go better.”
