Hay III
William Bucky Hay, III, 43, of Culpeper, died on Sunday, Jan. 14 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 22, 1952, in Charlottesville to Willie Mae Bledsoe Hay and the late William Hay, Jr.
He was a 1971 graduate of Culpeper County high School and received his degree from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Bucky was a past member of the Jaycees and the Culpeper Rotary club where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Rappahannock Hunt Club.
He was on the Board of Directors of the" Virginia Automotive Wholesaler Association and was coowner and president of the Culpeper, Orange and Warrenton Auto Parts.
He and his wife owned and operated Hay Day Farm where Camp Fantastic was held annually supporting the Make a Wish Foundation as well as numerous 4-H events. He was a member of the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
Those who knew Bucky will remember and deeply miss his wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Gilda G. Hay; his daughter, Leslie C. Hay of CulpeperJ his mother, Willie Mae Inskeep and her husband Robert L. Sr., of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one brother. Robert L. Inskeep, Jr., of Charlotte, North Carolina and one sister, Anne I. Smith of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Hay, Jr.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Found & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Robert J. Donnelly officiating. Eulogy was given by Rev. R. Wayne Bernardo. Interment followed-in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Pete Nelson, Curtis Stallings, Bobby Ryan, Billy Yowell, Powell O’Bannon and Tad Loving.
Honorary pallbearers were John Hanback, Clinton Covington, Nick Olinger, Milt Jeffries, Clinton Shifflett, Oliver Brown, Mike Olinger and Craig Brissette.
