The volleyball match against Goerge Mason Thursday, Jan. 4. proved to be rather disapointing for the JV team. However varsity came close to a win.

At least two high school basketball games and three volleyball games will have to be rescheduled as a result of school missed last week and this one, but that is only the start of the problem.
Athletic director Mike Tupper has tried to work the schedule so the teams do not have games scheduled the days before exams. This was supposed to have been exam week, but exams had been rescheduled, so more games had been scheduled for this week. Now those games will also have to be rescheduled, and another week freed up for exams.
With the entire state missing school because of the weather, the Virginia High School League may reschedule the end of the winter season tournaments*" but they can not be moved back much without interfering with spring sports.
The Bull Run District basketball tournament had been scheduled for Feb. 20-23, and the volleyball tournament for Feb. 17. Those dates had been set in time to allow the winning teams to go on,to regional and state . • level tournaments.
Scheduling winter sports has always been challenging, but 1996 , promises to be a year that will live . long in Mr. Tupper’s memory.
