They chose the Town Hall, formerly the Rappahannock County Library and before that a Presbyterian church.
They won second place in the competition.
Tano said, “The contest was a little harder than I thought it would be because so many details were considered by the judges.”
The model is on display in Room 15 at RCHS.
Others competed in public speaking, giving both prepared and extemporaneous speaches, research and design of small cars powered by carbon dioxide, designing and flying model planes, technical report writing and Manufacturing Prototype.
In Level I for RCHS 8th graders, Mike Otero won third place in Aerospace Technology and second place in Technical Research and Report Writing, and Daniel Ramey won third place in Technical Research and Report Writing.
