“This campaign seems ideally suited to our county,” said Sharon Wyrrick, this year’s artist-in-residence at RCHS and the lead organizer of TV-Turnoff Week in Rappahannock. “We still have strong families here, and we still believe in our community. Most residents do all kinds of volunteer work, whether it’s for the church, fire department, animal shelter, library or something else.
“A week without TV will give us a chance to reflect on the impact it is having on our lives and will let us decide whether we want it to have such a big impact,” she said.
“It won’t be a week of sacrifice,” she added. “It will be a week of fun.
