of RCES students from Principal Raye Tupper and Assistant Principal Richard Smith last Wednesday. In part, it said, “Today at our school we discovered that one of our students had two knives in his possession. They were not used to harm anyone, however this is a clear violation of weapons policy and we must take this very seriously. We have two students to thank for our discovery of the weapons. These individuals told their teacher about the weapons, enabling our staff to act quickly. We want to emphasize how important this type of good citizenship is as we work to maintain a safe environment for the children in our care. The Sheriffs Office was called. The matter will be handled as a law enforcement issue and a school discipline situation.”
