Spring Bird Mart Planned

The Bird Mart at the Annandale Boys and Girls Club Auditorium in Alexandria announces their Spring Bird Mart, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.

The Mart features hundreds of pet and talking birds, dozens of expert pet bird breeders and suppliers including suppliers of feed and equipment for wild bird feeders and bird watchers. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children under 12 and seniors. Free parking, snack bar and wheelchair facilities are available. There will be door prizes.

Shelter Work Day Set v

The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will sponsor a won: day at the Animal Shelterfrom 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundayf March 24\ New volunteers are encouraged to participate. Refreshments will be available. For more information call the shelter at 937-3283.

Miss Rappahannock Pageant Set

Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will sponsor their annual Miss Rappahannock pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Rappahannock Elementary School.

Rehearsal for the pageant is,at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. . Female residents of Rappahannock County between the ages of 2-19 are eligible to participate in the pageant. Male residents of Rappahannock County between the ages of 2-6 are eligible to participate in Little Mr. Rappahannock. Special events include the Sisters category and the Mother/Daughter category.

Raffle tickets for various prizes are currently available from members or may be purchased on the evening of the pageant.
