The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that the Virginia Military Institute cannot remain a state supported all-male college disappointed current students from Rappahannock and VMI’s alumni supporters.
Attorney Douglas Baumgardner (Class of 1973) has just completed his second four-year term as a member of the Board of Visitors at VMI and stepped down at the end of June, but he was very involved-in the school’s legal defense.
