Independence Day festivities in the Town of Washington Thursday get underway at 10 a.m. when the sales of arts, crafts and foods begin along Gay Street. Also starting at 10 a.m. is the Library’s Book Sale at the Town Hall.
At noon the Patriotic Program begins at the Courthouse with bell ringr ing, songs, speeches and an anniversary presentation celebrating the Town of Washington’s 200th birthday.
At 1 p.m. the WVFD Dollar Bill Line begins at the Monument.
Musical entertainment at the Courthouse also begins at 1 p.m. with singers Liz Russell and Domel Pratt, followed by The Eclectics'at 2 p.m., and David Clanagan and Free Spirit with gospel music at 3 p.m.
