Fourth of July in Washington
Come celebrate the 21st annual Fourth of July day-long celebration in Washington on Thursday, July 4.
Featured will be a parade and marching band, live fireworks at dark, food, ice cream and home baked goodies, patriotic events and performing artists.
There will be juried craft show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., parade at 4:30 p.m. musical entertainment from noon until 8 p.m. and BBQ dinner at 4 p.m.
The fee is $2 per car of $1 per person, all proceeds to the volunteer fire department and other local charities and organizations.

Benefit Bake Sale
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary will have a bake sale on Thursday, July 4th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the thrift shop. Any donation of baked goods would be appreciated and all are encouraged to support this endeavor.
Tennis Lessons and Groups
Over the years in Rappahannock there has been a growing interest in tennis and to help coordinate instruction opportunities as well as possibly create playing groups and an occasional tournament or round-robin ! event, Hunt Harris asks for community members to call him at 675-1879 or 987-9061. Hunt will be offering instruction beginning in June. j

Hospice of the Rapidan and Family Care Home Health and Hospice offer a free bereavement support group for anyone who has lost a loved l one prior to April 1996. Walk-in Clinic Days Set
The Rappahannock County Health Walk-In Clinics days in July are: 1 to 3 p.m. on July 8; 1 to 3 p.m. on July 9, “immunization only” and 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on July 15.
Fall Soccer Registration
Rappahannock Soccer League (RSL) is npw registering all children bom on and between Aug. 1, 1982 and Aug. 1, 1992 for the Fall 96 season. Practice is scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 26.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Boston Store, Laurel Mills Store, Hackley’s, Mountainside Market, Cabin Fever Books, and Settle’s Store. In order to register, you need to mail a completed form and $25 application fee for each soccer participant to Lorinda Bosch, P.O. Box 228, Washington, Va. 22747. Call Lorinda at 636-3580 with registration questions.
Camp Activities Planned
Camp Fertile will be held July 9 and will feature Mask Making with Peggy Schadler. On July 10 they will be making a medicine wheel and storytelling with Dancing Reed.
