$4,000 to hire a part-time adult education coordinator.
Hampton District representative Mike Massie asked if this position would be built into future budgets. Mrs. Biggs said that this would be “seed money,” and that the school system hoped to have the adult education program self supporting. Bookkeeper Bonnie Hahn said if funds for the position appeared in future budgets they would be covered by miscellaneous revenue.
The School Board had also requested $5,000 for a part-time editor and materials and postage to produce a school newsletter and $10,000 to contract for custodial services, but the supervisors turned down those items.
The discussion oh the request for $10,000 to contract for custodial services provided most of the debate.
