Rappahannock County’s first annual song camp featuring the legendary poet, songwriter and raconteur, Charles John Quarto, and Paul Reisler of Trapezoid will be held at Blackwater Homestead near Boston on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14. Lasting from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, the workshop will have equal emphasis on writing lyrics and melody.
Charles John Quarto is a poet, songwriter, master teacher, n spiritual channel, healer and one of the most entertaining individuals to ever touch down on this planet. His songs have been recorded by The Band, Willie Nelson, Cher, Waylon Jennings, Jennifer Wames, Don Williams and a host of others. Some of his best known songs include; “Geronimo’s Cadillac,” “Mama Knows the Highway,” and “Grapes on the Vine.” Graham Nash who produced one of Quarto’s albums of poetry for RCA Records, says, “He’s absolutely brilliant and must be heard.”
His performances are completely unique — a brilliant combination of poetry, humor and social commentary.
Paul Reisler is a composer, songwriter, teacher, recording artist, performer and leader of the group rrapezoid, described by the Washington Post as “the finest folk group in America.”
He has taught oh the Song School Faculty of the Kerrville Folk Festival, relluride Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, Swannanoa Gathering, Common Ground and the Augusta \rts Workshop.
Mr. Reisler writes both songs and nstrumentals and has just completed a lew album of original instrumentals
