Marsha Savage of Castleton finished making the reproduction of the flag on Tuesday so it could be carried during the ride. It has coral colored stars and a starburst. The original is in The Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond.
Asked why he was doing this, Del. Katzen, who is campaigning for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor in the 1997 election, said, “It’s fun, and it’s important to commemorate and keep alive the history of Virginia. And it’s a great way to spend the Fourth of July weekend with friends.”
