Mayor Stewart Willis welcomed everybody to the celebration of the nation’s 220th birthday and the town’s 200th.
He noted that photographer Henry Eastwood had donated a maple tree to the town which will be planted at the Town Hall. He expressed gratitude to Mr. William Carrigan for his support of the annual festivities and thanked RAAC for its “actual management.”
Richard Perry, who is living in the “Old Rectory” on Main Street this summer while he works for the Weinberg campaign for Congress, said of Bob Weinberg, “For 30 years he served the community with compassion and dedication. He will make a fine representative for this district.”
He said Mr. Weinberg would protect Social Security and Medicare, support an increase in the minimum wage, protect the environment and support student loans. “We of the 10th District would be proud to have Bob in Washington, as a voice that speaks with compassion and conviction.”
