The policy prohibits extra personnel being hired as a result of enrolling nonresident students, and states that “transportation to and from school and any schoolrelated activities must be provided at the sole cost of the parents of nonresident students.”

The paragraph in the nonresident admission policy as it reads now says, “Full-time, regular employees who are nonresidents of the county may enroll their children in county schools without paying tuition as long as such enrollment creates no significant disruption to the operations of the school division. Such nonresident employees’ children may attend the county school where the class size best allows for enrollment.”

In an earlier school board meeting this year, Dr. Gangel recommended that the school board delete this paragraph.
