Laurie Marshall’s class at Whole Family Learning Center, from the Middle School of Hearthstone, did a survey of the Town of Washington, Va. on “What Freedom Means.”
On May 16, students interviewed people in town. These are the spontaneous answers they received:

“Being free means I am free to choose any religion and free to choose my job and free to choose my life.”
Post Mistress, Nina Coats, bom in Miami Beach, Fla.:
“It means I can do what I want within reason. 1 can get a job doing anything I want if I’m smart enough. I can buy what I want and make any friend. The only thing standing in the way of my freedom is me.”
