David Means, of Amissville, was charged with reckless driving following a two-car accident on Route 640 on June 12.
The accident occurred at 10:38 a.m. when Kelly Dean, of Rixeyville, who was traveling northbound on Route 640 in her 1985 Honda, rounded a curve and hit the rear end of Mr. Means’ 1987 Volkswagen sedan. Mr. Means was backing up in a southbound direction into the northbound lane when Ms. Dean’s car rounded the curve, and could not avoid hitting him.
Ms. Dean suffered minor injuries. The damage to her vehicle was estimated at $3,000. The damage to Mr. Means’ car was $2,000, according to Virginia State Trooper Sean Knick who investigated the accident.
A deer was the stated cause of a single vehicle accident on Route 707, near U.S. 522 on June 13.
Eric Vannostrande, of Boston, Va., told Virginia State Trooper W.A. Sumner that a deer caused him to swerve off the road to the right thereby sending his 1990 Nissan pickup into a culvert and tree stump. He suffered minor injuries.
Mr. Vannostrande was charged with reckless driving.
A 16-year-old boy from Viewtown was charged with reckless driving following an accident on Route 621 on Thursday, June 5.
