Class Reunion Scheduled
The classes of 1954 and 1957 will have their class reunion July 4 and 5. The classmates will have a picnic on the ground of George Washington Carver-Piedmont Technical Education Center on Friday and a dinner/dance on Saturday at the Holiday Inn. For information call Betty Roberts at 825-1945.
Lifeguarding Classes Offered
The Culpeper-Madison Chapter of the Red Cross is offering lifeguard training this month. Lifeguarding classes will be held at the Madison Recreation Center Pool beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 23. The fee for this one-week course is $150. Successful completion of the course results in American Red Cross certification as a lifeguard.
Call the Red Cross office at 825-8611, or come by any weekday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., to enroll. The Culpeper-Madison Chapter is located at 146 North Main Street in Culpeper. Course fees must be paid in advance.
Girls Instructional Camp
There will be a Girls Basketball Camp held at the RCHS gym June 1821. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the camp will be held from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, June- 21, the camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp is for girls entering the sixth grade up to grade twelve. The cost of the camp is $40. Instructors for the camp will be Varsity Coach, Luther Stanley and J.V. Coach, Rhonda Jenkins. Adult Education Classes Set
Free adult education classes continue to be available at the Rappahannock County Library, lower level room, on Monday and Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. New students are asked to register on Wednesday evening. For further information call 675-3419 or 675-2549.
Firemen's Carnival Scheduled
The Flint Hill Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival will be held July 23, 24, 25 and 26. The department is currently seeking queen contestants and more information may be obtained from Connie Huff-Harris at 675-3389.
Water Instructors Needed
The Culpeper-Madison Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking water safety instructors. Contact the office at 825-8611 for details. Lifeguarding and swim classes will begin in late June. Dates and times will be announced soon.
