AGE AND APPRECIATION We may develop a greater appreciation of life as we age becaase there is increasingly less of it to enjoy. Just as we savor the last few morsels of a freshly baked cake that we first ate with abandon, we take in the last few years of life more closely. As Stephan Mackenna wrote, “It seems a token and habit of older age to feel very deeply the charm there is in every display of life. I love it yearly more and more - in the antics and questions of children, in the roaming of a baby’s surprised eyes, in the sparrows (now as I write) cracking seeds on the balcony...in the white shimmer of apple blossom I saw yesterday at Clamart, and in the garden there at dusk, when we walked under the chestnuts.” Just looking deeply into the moments we live, whether it is time spent with those we love or time spent alone just savoring the pleasures of being alive - this is where much of our meaning comes from. Sometimes we just wait too long to reestablish a connection with those whom we love. If you are separated by either geography or a missed connection, why not call and reopen that door? Just hearing the voice of one we love can bring peace of mind. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, we try to make everything work out for you in as painless a way as possible. Call 347-3431 for answers to your questions.
