Kolya this week
The Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community will present Academy Award winner, “Kolya,” on Friday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street. “Kolya” is a sort of Czech “Kramer vs. Kramer” set in Prague, in 1988-89, at the dawn of the Velvet Revolution.
The screenwriter, Zdenek Sverak, also plays the central character, a bachelor cellist who suddenly finds himself responsible for an adorable Russian 5-yearold. (PG, 112 minutes, in Czech)
