Rappahannock’s Minor League baseball team extended their winning season this past weekend.
Rappahannock beat Morrisville 19-2 on Saturday, Oct. 11 in Warrenton. This puts their record at a perfect seven wins and no loses.
Rappahannock had another week of good pitching performances from Nick Raiford and Will Miller.
Raiford started the game striking out six batters in three innings while giving up one walk and one run. Miller pitched the final two innings, striking out three while giving up one hit, three walks and one run.
Jacob Dodson lead the offensive attack for Rappahannock collecting two singles. Ben Hahn, Miller and Raiford had one hit each.”
Rappahannock made great plays in the field (including two double plays) and at the plate. Morrisville only recorded three outs on Rappahannock for the entire game (all in the first inning). In four innings Rappahannock left runners on base with no outs as they scored the maximum of five runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
This game could have really been a blowout without the five run rule...
Rappahannock’s last game at Stuart Field in Amissville is Saturday, Oct. 18, against Warrenton No. 3. Game time is 2 p.m.
