special forces. He was a bush pilot in Vietnam supplying camps and carrying wounded and left the army in 1968 to become a commercial pilot flying Boeing 737s for U.S. Airways. He flew with the airlines for 29 years until he retired this past June.
He met his wife, Patricia, in Chicago in 1973 and they married two years later. They have two daughters, Anna, a freshman at William and Mary, and Rebecca, a sophomore at Rappahannock County High School.
