On Oct. 5 Scout Van Carney dedicated his Eagle Scout Project, a fire danger sign located at the entrance of the Rappahannock Park, to the late Boy Scout leader and Rappahannock Lions’ Club .member, Paul Nichols. * “The reason I dedicated -this to Mr. Nichols is because .he was my adviser and scout master for four years and he had a big impact on my life. He was never really like an ;adult. He didn’t tell people what to do, he guided them, “ said Carney.

“This was a project Mr. ■Nichols really wanted to see ‘me do. He talked about it for three or four years. “He would say, ‘Go over to Marshall or Xuray and look at a sign’.”
