Support survey
Triad is an organization dedicated to improving life for senior citizens, by heightening their awareness to crime in an effort to reduce the number of seniors who are victims of crimes, through providing needed services and by coordinating a variety of area services that seniors need.
The local chapter of Triad has formed a SALT Council (SALT stands for seniors and lawmen together) which is the foundation behind the idea of Triad.
They have come up with a Triad/Community Action Survey, soon to be out and available at many places in Rappahannock. If you can’t find one (which is doubtful) you can always get one at the Sheriff’s Office.
Make every effort to get a copy of the survey, fill it out and return it to a designated location or mail it in to Rappahannock Triad, RO. Box 82, Washington, 22747-0082.
Any personal information on the survey will be kept strictly confidential. They are seeking to use the data on the surveys to get an accurate picture of the types of crimes residents are most concerned about, services which are needed and other issues of concern to seniors in the county.
Take house tour
The forty-first annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale, presented by the Episcopal Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish, will be held this weekend, rain or shine.
Rain or shine, it’s worth the price of admission and is a great way to spend a day in the beautiful countryside here, as well as helping out a worthy cause.
If you get tickets at one of the homes on the tour, make sure you also stop in at the parish hall at Trinity Episcopal Church. It will be filled with arrangements of dried flowers, the beauty and quality of which would enhance any home, and best of all they’re for sale.
Some lucky visitor to the tour will win a queen-size American sampler quilt created by county residents. Begin at the church and work your way around the tour homes. It will be a day you won’t soon forget.
