Public health dentist
Dr. George A. Cervera Jr., of Warrenton, who practiced dentistry and health care management with the Public Health Department for 25 years, died Dec. 27 while visiting his family in Medford, Mass. He was 66.
Dr. Cervera joined the Rappahannock-Rapidan (PD9) Health District in October, 1970, and retired as district dental manager on Dec. 31, 1995.
During his years of service in the five-county district, Dr. Cervera was instrumental in starting dental health screenings for school children and was responsible for instituting fluoride treatment programs in the public school systems.
