Every month (in Sperryville in 1998) was warmer than that same month in 1997, except March which was one degree cooler,” he said. “Many times the warm temperatures were accompanied by significant winds,” that increased evaporation of sur-j face water and soil moisture. •
“The Thornton River in! Sperryville was reduced to a* trickle,” said Wingfield, adding that with the recent! snow and rain, “ it is nice to! hear the little river running; for a change.”
